Productive Planning:
What You May Want Help With

Most organizations need an outsider to ask questions about why it “has to be” the way it is, and productive planning often depends on unexpected answers. Organizations are like individuals in that they often don’t see their own underlying motivations and how they appear in the world. An outsider can highlight those factors, and help situate planning in the larger world where you have to function.

Apart from those factors, planning is a lot of work, and most organizations can’t spare someone to focus only on facilitating it. The internal planning team has plenty to do without having to take leadership for the whole process.
